Welcome!!! Our names are Tim, Nicki and Pieper!! We have only been raising, showing, and breeding English Lops since Dec 30, 2010. We started in California and in June, 2011 the military moved us to Florida were we established our Rabbitry, then Tim retired snd we moved to Appling GA. All three of us are huge animal lovers and our bunnies are our family members. We used to keep them in our 4th bedroom, then we moved and they were in a 38 X 30 Building with lots of fans and they adapted well to temperatures. When we moved to Georgia, we built a 30X40 barn with special drainage to install the flush clean system, ITS AMAZING!!! Currently we have 96 holes and are will be adding more with time. That flush clean system is not cheap. We have lots of ceiling fans, and fans to help with pushing air out and pulling fresh air in! I have been told that I should write the story about how we started our rabbitry so here it goes..... In the summer of 2010 Pieper started asking a lot of questions about 4H and wanting a bunny while we were in Florida visiting her daddy who was deployed there for 6 months (we lived in Cali) . We were still discussing it, until after first quarter of school she asked again. She was given the goal of making Honor Roll and we would get a bunny for her. As Pieper does with us normally she said she would like all of us to have bunnies together so we could have a rabbitry as a family. We first contacted Jennifer Badger and Pieper's heart melted all over the keyboard when she saw Isabelle on the screen, Pieper's bunny found!!! After further searching the web and a suggestion from Jennifer we went to Molly Pease's website and Tim saw Bubba and BAM!! his mind was made up. After more suggestions and checking out the ARBA website, we contacted Trina Carlson and a date was made to come to her house and get a bunny from her. For Christmas 2010 we drove from Southern California to Lacy, Washington to visit some of our family for Christmas. At the end of Decemeber we left Washington and our plan for bunnies came true!!! We drove to Jennifer Badger's House to pick up Isabelle and Bubba whom she was transporting and bunny sitting for us until we could get to her home. YAY!!! After seeing Jennifer's rabbitry we knew exactly how we wanted to establish our rabbitry... Just like hers ;) We stayed the night in a hotel and came to her house again early in the morning to pick up our buns, that makes 2 and off to Trina's house we went. When we arrived we went to the barn to check out a couple of different buns she had picked for Nicki to choose from and Nicki fell in love with a broken black Doe, who is now named Lulu!! and then there were 3. We went back to our home and the journey of bunnys shows began!! A month later we picked up another Doe, Ester, (which Pieper renamed Charcoal), from Trina, who was already bred for us to start our own rabbitry, now we have 4. A few days later our family was told that we had to move to Florida. We wanted to stay in our home in California, we had just made soo many new bunny show friends and started establishing ourselves in the California bunny world. 29 days later we have 4 little babies in Charcoal's nestbox!! From day one Nicki was in love with a little chestnut baby and after 10 weeks the love wasnt going anywhere. She kept Chesty and now that makes 5. The same day that it was decided Nicki was keeping Chesty, Pieper made arrangements with Juan Salas to get a baby Buck from him. After the Stockton Bunny show we went to Juan's house and left with a Fawn Buck that Pieper named Bubbles, THAT MAKES 6!!! Now we have all 6 of our West Coast Elops that we are taking to Florida with us. 10 days later, Tim won custody of Pieper and we then knew for sure our rabbitry was going to be started in Florida, instead of just showing and having them as pets. Skip a month and we were living in Florida!!! 2 weeks later, we were attending our first Florida rabbit show. In 2013 we won Best of Breed and Broken Best of Variety and Best Opp of Variety. Our bunny family is amazing and for 11 years this has been an amazingly life because of all of them being in it. Now fast forward to 2018… I finished MA school and Tim retired from the Air Force. Pieper decided she no longer wanted to show :( so the Rabbitry is Tim & I’s now, but she still helps. Next we moved to Georgia to be closer to my family. And took a little break, Orr ahh a forced break because none of rabbits wanted to successfully breed. Then we had a house fire that took a toll on our plans with our rabbits. So we had to take a break for awhile. Covid of course extended the showing break :( After taking a break we are back!! During our break from showing, we worked very hard on breeding for better immune systems, bigger & better bodies and head! We have never really had a problem with ears and shape, but our slow growing line needed to change to bigger. And then here we are getting ready for the 2021 ARBA Convention!! At convention we will be excited for the Otter English Lop presentation that we have been working on for 5 years with our Sister Wives. Now, please enjoy the rest of our Family Rabbitry Website. There is a guest sign in form we would love to have you fill out so we know our website is actually being enjoyed by others. We would greatly appreciate it Thank you, The Jaehn Family |
